“Probably. Everything he does is some type of tactic.” Dick shook his head and chucked. Every thing Bruce did had a purpose. If he had waffles instead of pancakes it was because of some convoluted reason Dick couldn’t begin to understand. Not because he liked waffles more. One would think that he was being hyperbolic if he said that out loud but he wasn’t. Dick decided not to follow up on Clark’s comment though his statement only made him feel giddier. “I’m happy for you Clark, I really am. I know we can be a bit of a bummer sometimes so it must be great to finally be able to interact with people more like you.” Dick was alluding to Superman and his own species the Kryptonians. He knew that his words could be considered slightly offensive due to him pointing out that Clark was “different” but he knew what he meant. Dick didn’t presume to know much about Clark’s personal life and feelings but he knew the man well enough to know that he was out of place within this world. Yet he stuck with it and Dick admired that. Clark more than deserved to have a place he could finally call home that wasn’t stuck in the frigid arctic.
“What does it look like?”[‘/color] Dick pressed Clark for information. He was venturing back into his teenage years but he really didn’t care all that much. This wasn’t him being Batman. This was him acting out in boyish wonder. He had never visited any other planets and hadn’t even ventured outside of his solar system. That was unheard of for a hero of Dick’s status. The least he could do was figure out what he was missing out on. Even Gar had traveled outside the Milky Way once or twice! Superman didn’t answer his question. Instead he made an offer that Dick hadn’t seen coming. “...visit?” He reminded himself he was in a cafe and talking about information that hundreds would pay to have their hands on. “Up for it? Of course! I can get Tim to keep an eye on things and call in a few favors from Helena. That would be amazing.”
The moment he said those words the door to the deli opened and Alfred Pennyworth stepped inside. He scanned the room briefly before his eyes settled on the duo sitting in the corner. Alfred approached them curtly. “Master Grayson, Mr. Kent.” He nodded at the both of them. “I am sorry to disturb you but Mr. Fox has the information you require and believe it or not you still have that meeting with the Board of Directors at the Daily Planet. It would seem that they are so used to Superman-” Alfred eyed Clark and then his carefully ruffled hair. “-saving them that an explosion in the middle of the street does little to disturb them. I have made an excuse for your current style of clothing and your lateness but we must not dally.” Dick sighed and stood up, humbled. “Alright, Alright.” He turned to Clark. “Thanks for the talk, Clark. You know how to contact me.” A broad grin was on his face before he turned and led the way outside. Visiting New Krypton?
He was more excited than he had been in a long time.
