Players: The Flash, Harley Quinn Location(s): Streets of Gotham Plot Summary: The Flash pays a visit to Gotham City and finds a very colorful detour.
Everyone was home safe and sound. The wife and kids were tucked away in their warm, brightly lit house. They had been singing songs when he stepped out of the door. The fact that he currently had one of their songs stuck in his head and didn't mind said how much he loved them. Even with recent events, he felt fine about leaving them alone.
Iris and Jai were like Dad and could seriously piss off a bad guy just by playing games. It would be distracting enough for them to make a get away. Also, the very events that made him worry made him feel better, oddly enough. The Rogues were back in their respective homes and enjoying ... whatever it was that they did. Due to Wally stepping in on their behalf, he felt sure that Leonard would get the others on board with keeping the West family safe. The dear old Captain had a sense of honor that way.
If nothing else, Hartley could just play a little tune and march them all over.
That thought alone made him smile. If there was any one person he never wanted to go up against, it would be the Piper. It was a moot point, but coming to Gotham was more a danger to him than to his family back home. He had come here to give Dick a hand. Despite his feelings, Batman himself had been willing to save a bunch of criminals. Bruce would never have done it, but yet another moot point. He was here to give one of his best buddies a hand since he had been kind enough to go all the way to Keystone City for Wally.
Do your ears hang low? Do they wobble to and fro?
[/i] Wally sang quietly, walking down an almost deserted sidewalk. Boy, this sure was different than either of his cities. A sun down curfew seemed to be strictly adhered to on this street. He stopped, rubbing the back of his head. How was he supposed to help if there was nothing to help with? Well, he was just getting into the city. The speedster started walking, deciding that he needed to be further into the city before the real action started. Hey, maybe he would even attract a little on the way. He did stand out like a bright red thumb in the middle of the darkest city in the country.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Bud and Lou were growing ever larger as they lounged around the hideout, eating whatever pleased them. Joker's jacket, his pillow, even his sandwich from his plate. The diet was doing nothing for their figures, and so, momma had to step in and take them out for a walk. It was good practice of course, to walk them regularly. Lurking through Gotham's alleys in the dead of night, Harley was hardly expecting the sight she was greeted by.
Harley had spotted Flash from miles away, that bright red suit stood out anywhere, especially in a place as dark as Gotham. At this hour, nothing good was going to come from that superhero. Following him for a bit, Harley could hear the soft tune of a child's nursery rhyme, a rather strange sound to hear coming from such a well-known figure. Though it was a catchy tune, and Harley liked the way this night was going. Would fit into her evening plans perfectly.
From the left, the low growl started up, followed by it's match on the right. Bud and Lou stuck to the shadows, their dark spotted fur blending in on the streets of Gotham.
"Round and round the cobbler's bench The monkey chased the weasel, The monkey thought 'twas all in fun Pop! Goes the weasel."
Harley's voice rang out from the shadows, soft and sweet, in a very eerie way. She stuck to the shadows as she sang the tune loudly, waiting for that last line. The 'pop' turned out to be a tiny explosive, that Harley threw in the air as it exploded.
"I've no time to plead and pine, I've no time to wheedle, Kiss me quick and then I'm gone..."
Kicking it up a notch, Harley sped the song along, a rather unique sound accompanying her voice. 'Boing-boing-boing' As she came ever closer to the fastest man alive, Harley let out a crazed laugh.
"Pop!" The pogo stick Harley was 'riding' touched the ground just in time for the explosives to detonate in the nearby building, bringing brick and steel crumbling down. "...Goes the weasel." There it was again, that cold cackle from the white-faced clown. Up and down she hopped on her child's toy, her 'babies' keeping watch from the shadows.

The Flash slowed as he walked. For a moment, he wasn't one hundred percent sure that he was hearing growls. For a half second he thought it was just him. Gotham was one of the creepier places he visited so he figured that the place was just getting to him already. Ya know, it had a reputation for nutters after all.
As the growling continued, he knew it wasn't fake. It was just as real as he was and the sweet voice floating on the air. He turned, watching as a young woman started to near him. Black, red, and white like a classic harlequin. Ah, Harley Quinn. He put a hand on his hip, unfazed by her presence. Sure, she was a homicidal but he was faster than she was. He was faster than everyone so no need to worry.
Ya know, little boys and girls should be tucked in bed this late, He chided, wagging a finger at her as she finished the first verse. Of course the clown would know nursery rhymes. They were supposed to be fun and child friendly. The pogo stick added to the illusion as did her voice. It would be almost soothing and calming if he didn't know who and what she was.
The second pop made him flinch, twisting away from the rubble bursting from the now ruined building. Concrete and glass was not something you wanted to get in your eyes. It would be especially bad to not see while running at high speeds. See? Smart thinking right there.
Raising a brow, he grinned at the woman. Right, Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Sorry, forgot you guys like to twist things like that, He said, waving a hand. Silly him. This city didn't have kids parties, they had kids terror sessions.
Not taking his eyes off the harlequin, he motioned back at the mess. Hope that place was abandoned. Dead bodies tend to smell up a place. Also, I think they used bright black light paint, not blood. Giving decorating advise to a loon. Most people wouldn't think that would be good banter. He wasn't most people and it was a round about way of finding out if this section of town was really as dead as it seemed. He really hoped so.

Giving the pogo stick an exceptionally high bounce, Harley let go and allowed her body to fly through the air, performing an aerial flip as she landed gracefully on her feet. The pogo stick fell to the ground and lay there, unwanted by the Cupid of Crime for the time being. "I agree, and yet, children still walk around. In fact, my babies are out with me tonight." From the shadows, Bud and Lou showed themselves, the low growl turning into a shallow 'laugh', as hyenas do. Large creatures, their spotted fur blended so well against the shadows, they were the perfect pair to take into the city.
Reaching a hand down, Harley rested it on Bud's head as he stood loyally by her side. Smiling herself, Harley chuckled a deranged laugh, one that she had learned from Joker very, very well. "Why yes, the building was abandoned. One thing about the entertainment business, you never start off with a bang. The bang is the second building, now that one has people in it. Kids too, real sad scene to see the bodies on TV tomorrow. But, someone has to keep those unbearably fake reporters in business. Seriously, have you watched the news in Gotham? It's so obvious they're reading from a prompter." Rolling her eyes, Harley seemed to temporarily forget about her hostages waiting for the detonator to be triggered.
"The bodies, yes, I almost forgot. I was trying a social experiment, wanted to see if the fastest man alive can save people who are clearly out of his reach. You should stick around, the finale is really an explosion of fun." Smiling almost sweetly to the man, Harley's face soon contorted into a devlish grin. "Tick tock, tick tock. The timer on the detonator only has so much time left." Though Harley didn't expect to meet up with the Flash, somehow she just knew that taking hostages and rigging them to explosives would come in handy tonight.
Shifting her weight, Harley crossed her arms across her chest as she watched the hero. She wanted to catch that split-second look, when a hero realized that actual civilians were in real danger. The woman got a kick out of it every time.
