Mia is a happy person overall. She enjoys life to the fullest and tries to see the glass as half full. She does not let her past or her health get her down. She stays realistic as she can while looking towards the bright side of life. This sometimes may annoy people but, she does not care for what other people think of her.
Mia is also stubborn, which aids her in times of conflict. She follows her gut feeling and will stick with it. She refuses to back down from a problem. She is tough and when angered, she becomes a force to be reckoned with her sharp tongue and her slightly rebellious attitude. She is very loyal to those who care about her and are there for her. in times of trouble, she will be there fighting right besides them until the moment she can no longer fight.
When Mia is sad, she tries to put on a brave face. This comes from being on the street where sadness was a weakness. The day she found out she was HIV positive, she went home, studied for a test and "tried not to pout too much.". Of course, this brave face sometimes masks her pain and inner turmoil.
Mia deeply cares about Oliver, Dinah, Roy, and Connor. She regards them as family and is fiercely loyal to them. Oliver is the father she did not have and Dinah the mother she always hoped for. She regards Roy as an older brother and Connor as a brother as well.
Mia tends to crack wise a lot even under stress. It is her way to try and lighten the mood or cut the tension. Her jokes are not always appreciated, however. She does know when to keep her mouth shut.
Mia's greatest fear is dying from HIV and not having known what love really is and dying alone. She hides this fear behind jokes and distracts herself to keep from dwelling on the thought too much. She also hopes to one day settle down and have kids, but she knows that she may not be able to do that due to her HIV .So, she is very protective of children and of any other people who they defend who are on the street, she goes out of her way to help
Mia suffers from the guilt of Lian Harper‘s death. She feels slightly responsible for what happened to the girl who she thought of as her niece. She hides her guilt behind her normal brave face and witty retorts. She is now even more protective of children then she was before.

Archery- Mia is highly skilled with the use of a bow and arrow. While she knows her archery skills are nowhere near Connor or Oliver's level, she has been practicing her skills and continues to improve her bowmanship abilities. She is able to use a crossbow, like Oliver.
Above Average Athlete- Mia is an above average level athlete. She is highly skilled with many forms of martial arts and acrobatics.
Street Skills- Mia retains the skills she learned during her time as a prostitute. She is highly skilled at lock picking, approaching fellow street dwellers, and can tell when someone is armed, wether it be a gun or bladed weapon. She can tell who will give up information and won’t. Her skills at pick pocketing and reading people are highly honed.
Hacker-- Mia is adept at hacking computers. She is not highly skilled at it. She is getting much better with practice.

Mia is human and can be killed as any normal human. She also has to be careful of her injuries when she sustains them. She is very wary about getting infections, due to her HIVstatus.
H I S T O R Y+[/b]
Mia was a derailed teenager, who was in the prostitution ring, and was saved by Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) from her pimp. After that, Mia then becomes Green Arrow's ward. One day, Mia comes across his longbow, and Green Arrow offers to train her in efficiently using the longbow. From there on, Mia officially became his sidekick, though she had not yet taken on the name of Speedy.
However after a routine doctor‘s visit, it was revealed that she had become HIV-positive in light of her prostitution. Ollie takes this news hard and forbids her to fight crime anymore, even to the point when he is surrounded and saved by her, he tells her to hang up her cape. Even so, Mia convinces Green Arrow to let her become Speedy. Mia was both scared and confused when she found out, but as always put on a brave face, the only person able to see past this was Connor Hawke, Green Arrow's son. Talking to her he gives her the confidence to face the world and even Green Arrow. She later talks in front of her school about living with HIV saying that how it has affected her and that she is living not dying.
After a while, Green Arrow decides that she would do well in the Teen Titans . For Speedy to earn her spot, She is pitted against Robin . Even though Robin beats Speedy, she shows herself as a skilled fighter. Roy Harper gave her a special blue arrow with the writing "Only use in an emergency". She is at first apprehensive about joining and telling them of her status. She wants to be accepted for her and not seen as a someone who needs saving. During her very first mission with the team they are pitted against Dr. Light . The villain had regained his knowledge about how the Justice League erased his memory and was taking it out on all the members. He kidnapped the Green Arrow and challenged no one but the Titans to come and defeat him. He specifically wanted to destroy Mia while Arrow watched. With a team effort and numerous other former Titans they were able to defeat Light. As a result the team decided they didn't want any secrets from each other and Speedy told them of her HIV status, which they accept. During a fight with Superboy-Prime she used the blue arrow which trapped him in the phantom zone but he broke free.
Mia stayed with the Teen Titans while Cyborg was shut down but eventually left due to the in-fighting and team disharmony. She was then revealed to have been training on an island with Green Arrow and Conner Hawke. During her stay at the island Green Arrow recruited the best teachers in everything from long distance jumping to cooking. There she trained in many skills such as cliff jumping and sword fighting. She was later seen helping Brick and Green Arrow.
Mia would eventually kidnapped by Jason Todd also known as the Red Hood. Though it was initially due to Batman's involvement in his operations, Jason believed that he and Mia shared many similarities. Mia battled Jason Todd, the former Robin, and was defeated by him. By involving Green Arrow, he was trying to show Batman the price of enlisting others into their conflict. Red hood took Speedy to her high school where they fought and he played multiple mind games with her. He told her how alike they were in their upbringing, being survivors, dealing with rather brutish mentors. He told her how no one would understand her like he does. He eventually let her go but blew up her school. His words appeared to affect her on some level.
Later, she was present at Green Arrow and Black Canary's wedding and was interrupted by Deathstroke and his band of super-villains. When she found out that Green Arrow was a fake, she helped Black Canary and Connor rescue Green Arrow from Amazon capture. She later helped Green Arrow and Black Canary save Connor after he was shot, leaving him in a vegetative state and was kidnapped by Dr. Sivana. While following the trail in London on who shot and kidnapped Connor, she met a thief called Dodger who she developed a crush on. After saving Connor, she reveals to Dodger that she is HIV-positive and nevertheless, Dodger accepts that and begins a relationship with her. When he leaves to go back to London, Mia decides to follow after him.
However, when she arrives in London, she finds Dodger "snogging" the actress Emma Watson and breaks up with Dodger and returns back home just in time to help Black Canary save Green Arrow with a new costume.
Mia was babysitting Roy Harper's daughter Lian, when she heard that a supervillain called Electrocutioner was sighted in Star City planting bombs to send the city into another dimension. However, it was revealed that the bombs were actually destructive and when they activated, they destroyed parts of the city, including the area where Lian was in, killing her.
Mia finds Electrocutioner while Green Arrow joins her in an unknown location in Star City, asking him if she could kill him for the death of Lian and the people of Star City. Green Arrow convinces her not to and takes him into custody. She was present at Green Arrow's trial. At the funeral of Lian, Roy lashed out on numerous people including Mia. He told her how she failed to save Lian while she was babysitting at the time the city was being destroyed. The words hurt her greatly though Donna Troy tried to console her Roy was hurt and angry and it wasn't truly her fault.

Speedy sat atop a building that had become somewhat of a favorite of the female archer’s. Her gaze ran over the ruins of Star City. Her home had been torn to pieces and was now rebuilding itself. Ollie had been found not guilty. Her T cell count was still high, so no need to worry too much. Everything was getting better.[/b]
It would seem that way to an outsider. Mia had become very good at feigning happiness. Her ability to pretend that everything was getting better was growing too. It was a lie though. Since she had started college, she had not been able to patrol as much as Speedy. All of that work had fallen onto Connor, who was now the sole Green Arrow. Ollie had been exiled from Star. Dinah had left and joined the Birds of Prey.
As Speedy sat atop her perch of a building, she watched her home. It seemed that as more rubble was cleared, more secrets came out. The strength of the people of Star City had been tested. Her fellow citizens had come through. Star City was pulling itself together while the Arrow family tore itself apart.
There was a small high pitched cry that rang through the air that could only belong to a child. Speedy’s head turned towards the sound. She raced over the rooftops to get a better view of the entire situation. The golden arrow emblem on her chest seemed to have no soothing affect on the pain that filled her at the child’s cry though.
”LET ME GO! I WANNA GO HOME!”
There were two men pulling a little girl out of a van. Why the hell was it always a van when grown men abducted kids? Seriously, ddn’t they know that was the sterotype by now? Had they never heard of the internet and Pedobear’s van? Mia thought to herself.
It did not matter though. Once Speedy caught sight of the child, the pain and guilt nearly crippled her for a moment. The child was a little girl. She had long black hair. Her facial features, she looked so much like Lian. Mia almost mistook the girl for her neice. There had been a split second of happiness that Lian wasn’t dead. But, no, Mia knew that was not Lian. Lian was gone and it was Mia’s fault.
Mia was Speedy right now though. Speedy was not going to let this girl be hurt anymore. Mia had failed Lian as a babysitter, a family member, and as a hero. There was no way that was ever going to happen to this girl though. Not on Speedy’s watch.
The arrow hit the first man in the shoulder. He fell to the ground and cursed loudly. Speedy easily made herself viable to the two disgusting excuses for human beings. The girl looked up at her and smiled. Her two captors looked up in fear as the black and yellow clad archer notched another arrow in her bow.
”Hey, dirt bag. I suggest you let the girl go unless you want to take an arrow to the knee and make a set with your friend.”[/b]
The man on the ground pulled a gun out. How stupid did he think she was? The gun was soon out of his reach as she shot it out of his hand with another arrow. The third arrow went into the second man’s knee, as promised. Speedy made her way down from the roftop to the scared little girl.
The girl just looked at the female archer for a bit. Mia got down on one knee and put her bow on her back. Now, she was at eye level with the child and was unarmed. She was worried the girl might have been scared of her. That wasn’t the case here obviously. Seeing as how the little girl ran to her.
”I wanna go home.”[/b]
”Well. That is what I am here for. I am going to take you home to your mommy and daddy, ok? Don’t worry, I’m one of the good guys.”[/b]
”I’m not supposed to talk to strangers. I’m not supposed to go with people I don’t know either.”[/b]
Smart kid. She was probably taken against her will by these creeps. Low life scumbags. ”Well, I’m Speedy.”
Mia.
”What’s your name?”[/b]
”I’m Rebecca.”
”I’m Lian.”
”Well, Rebecca. Now we aren’t strangers anymore. So, I’m going to take you to the police, ok?”
“I’m going to take you back to your daddy, ok, Lian?”
”Ok!”[/b]
Mia picked the girl up and could feel as the tiny arms wrapped around her neck. She held onto the girl as not to drop her. When she reached the police station, she forced herself to let go of Rebecca and put her down. Blue eyes watched as the girl raced over to her parents. She did not see Rebecca running to her mother and father though. She saw Lian running over to Roy. Lian turning to her with a big smile on her face.
”Thank you Speedy!”
”Thank you Auntie Mia!”[/b]
Speedy simply smiled and waved. She gave the girl a two fingered salute.
”No problem, kiddo.”[/b]
Speedy left the address of where the two goons were who took Rebecca. She then left the station and shot a grappling hook arrow up to the rooftop of another building and let herself be pulled up.
A line from a poem she read in her English Comp class ran through the head of the blond archer. It made its way from her mind to her mouth as she whispered while watching the family leave the station.
