Players: John Stewart and Hal Jordan Location(s): Earth - and space! Plot Summary: John and Hal tagteam a bunch of Sinestro Corps poozers.
"Awesome job!" "Thought for sure you were a goner this time!" "Epic, man. Epic!" "How'd you do that last part? Y'know where you like flipped, and dived, and rolled all at once!?" The cheers were endless. As were the pats on the back and the hand numbing highfives. Hal just took it all in with a cocky, yet tiny, smirk on his face. "See you guys tomorrow." It was all in a day's work. Of course none of the stunts and tricks Hal had pulled were actually necessary, these were simple drills and test runs; but Hal always liked to liven things up at little. It didn't hurt that he became the center of attention for it either.
Once he was back inside the compound and in the locker room Hal shrugged of his jacket, catching it before it met the ground, and tossed the article into his open locker. He whistled a quiet tone to himself as he pulled off his gloves and threw them into the locker as well. Hal twirled the green ring on his finger twice and then slammed his locker shut. With the work day over he was ready to get back home and see how he would spend the rest of his day.
His trip home was rather uneventful and once he had finally reached his destination Hal Jordan grabbed an ice cold brewski from his fridge. A green bottle opener popped the top off and Hal indulged in a slow refreshing sip....and then his ring ruined the mood.
Green Lantern 2814.1 ordered to sector 457 immediately.
"Aw c'mon! Do I have to?" The ring on his middle finger responded with an affirmative ping. Hal didn't have much else on his plate but he had already gotten comfortable and plus he enjoyed griping. But now wasn't the time for that, his ring wouldn't 'order' him some place if it wasn't important. Hal stood from his couch and in the blink of an eye he was wearing his Green Lantern Corp uniform. Using extended green construct arms Hal returned his opened beer to the fridge, to be consumed later, and then he was off for Sector 457.

Hovering over the rough surface of the moon Green Lantern John Stewart was looking over the latest damage that the Watchtower had suntanned. Any of the places that heroes called 'home' were under constant attack or need for repairs/upgrades. Being that his mind worked a certain way, he had a step up on some on how to build structures that could withstand numerous attacks. The Hall of Justice was one such structure, he and Steel worked together on that building just like they were again here.
"Man, Steel sections three, seventeen, and twenty four need immediate attention," the Green Lantern's voice was that of someone who was a bit overwhelmed with the situation on hand. "Alright, I'll add those onto the list. At least the damage is not as bad as last time. The repairs should go a little quicker this time around, I'll have to look into the supplies for those repairs and see if there is a chance we can upgrade defenses on that side of the watchtower," Steel replied back to the Green Lantern over the Justice League communicator. "Probably not a bad idea, most attacks come from the south side, but this side took the brunt this time around," Green Lantern agreed as he lowered his scanning field that was being generated by his power ring.
::Green Lantern 2814.1 ordered to sector 457 immediately.::
The project at hand came to a skidding halt when the Green Lantern's power ring alerted him of his attention being required. "Always when I'm right int he middle of something..." he muttered to himself as he looked back over his shoulder to the scenery of the Earth. He was needed all the time to help with one thing or another, this sector or another. That was the life he chose to live these days. "Sorry Steel, my other job is calling me in. I'm heading out of this Sector," he let his friend know about the call he had just received. "Figures. Contact me when you're back in the area so we can finish this up," Steel replied back with a sigh afterward. "Will do, Green Lantern out," with that John turned and took off toward Sector 457.

Sector 457 was a way's off from sector 2814, even at Green Lantern speeds it was a pretty good distance to be traveling. "So what're we dealing with, ring?" Hal asked as his emerald aura lit up the darkness of space while flying with one arm stretched out before him. ::A rally of Sinestro Corps members have surfaced on Tyranink, sixth moon of the desert planet Dhask.:: Hal didn't like the sound of that, the Sinestros always seemed to be giving them problems; lock 50 of them up and 60 pop up somewhere. "Sinestro must be keeping busy. How many of them?" ::Forty. This number is disputed.:: The ring could only give him an estimate at the time but once he was closer to Tyranink he was sure his ring would better be able to lock onto the qwardian rings and get a definite count of them.
Sinestro Corps was a large threat and fairly treated as a top priority but Hal wondered why it was that he was called all the way from Earth to handle this issue. Where was the Sector 457 GL or any of the many lanterns between 457 and 2814. Obviously this meant that things were a lot more series than they appeared and he was called in for a reason. It was Hal's job and duty anyway so he wouldn't complain about any of it, but he was in a hurry to get to the bottom of this. ::Lifeform approaching. Green Lantern Stewart of Sector 2814.:: At the notification given by his ring Hal's jaw set as he glanced around him. Two of the Corps best men were called in for this? "What's going on?" Hal questioned more to himself than his ring and being that it understood him the ring made no attempts at answering. Now that he knew John was joining him Hal slowed marginally, just enough so that John could catch up to him.

As John had turned to take off toward Sector 457 his ring indicated that another Lantern within Sector 2814 was nearby and then gone. "They called in two from Earth?" John questioned to himself as he kicked it into second gear to catch up to the other Earth Lantern that had been called. Being that there was three other Green Lanterns from Earth (Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, and Hal Jordan) losing two would not be that big of a deal. Considering most Sectors only had two Lanterns regulated to them. This did not stop John from wondering which one had been called in besides himself.
The flight speed of the other Lantern slowed up considerably allowing John to catch up to the Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. "Hal?" John asked inquisitively as he flew up right next to the fellow Green Lantern of Earth. "This must be a pretty big deal if they are calling both of us in all the way from Sector 2814 to Sector 457," his tone was not that of sarcasm or humor, rather it was a strict tone to match the inevitable seriousness of the situation awaiting them. ::A rally of a proximately forty Sinestro Corps members have surfaced on Tyranink, sixth moon of the desert planet Dhask.:: his ring informed him of the situation they were heading into, just like Hal's had done for him before John had arrived.
"Well then..." John muttered to himself as the two Lanterns looked at one another and kicked it back into top speed to reach the Sector faster. "For that many Sinestro Corps members to be in one Sector they are after something. Or.. someone," John was stating the obvious at this point, but what else could he do until they were on scene with the Sector's two Green Lanterns and whomever else had been called in by Salakk. Forty Lanterns wielding yellow rings powered by Fear was never an easy task, Sinestro alone was a powerhouse with no Entity or anything he could go toe to toe with just about any Lantern of any color in the universe. But forty crazed lunatics with those same rings spelt disaster even if they were not at Sinestro's power level.

In a tough situation John was a good man to have watching your back. That made Hal feel a little bit better about this whole mission, but in another respect it made him apprehensive. There was no bragging involved but he and John were two of the top lanterns of the entire Corps, if the Guardians or even Salakk felt this job needed the both of them then there was no doubting the seriousness involved. "You read my mind, John." He nodded to his comrade, eyes narrowed and jaw set clenched. Hal listened as John's ring relayed the same message as his own ring. Approximately 40 members of the Sinestro Corps. A good number of Sinestro's followers were essentially fodder but even in a group as close to forty there would be some real heavy hitters awaiting the two GLs.
"I guess we'll just have to ask them once we get there, won't we?" Worry and all the questions needed to be pushed out of mind for the time being. They would reach the Dhask moon shortly and they needed to be in battle mode. Picking up speed both GLs left trails of green streaking through space, the desert planet coming closer to them and her moons coming into focus. "Sixth one right?" Hal asked while mentally counting the floating orbs. Tyranink looked to be the only inhabitable place in the system, there was no doubt whatever the Sinestro Corps was after it was on Tyranink.

"That we will," John nodded back to Hal as their pace quickened. There definitely were a lot of questions racing through his mind, but he pushed them to the back of his mind for the time being. There was too many other things going to be hitting them in the face coming up really soon. Quite literally. So the military training of calming his mind for the task ahead and preperation set in allowing him to be ready at a moments notice.
As they entered the galaxy where Dhask was, John and Hal made it to the Planets view in no time to count the moons before them. Tyranink was the only inhabitable one according to the Green Lantern Rings index which made part of this Sector's Green Lanterns easier to keep an eye on. "Yeah, hard to miss the welcoming party..." he pointed out right after Hal asked which moon it was again just for confirmation. The moon was literally surrounded by yellow dots, that was about ten or so. That meant the rest were on the moon itself.
Motioning over to Hal that he was going to go right so the other Green Lantern should go left, John shifted his flight pattern. "More Green Lanterns!!" It was a little to late for them to be yelling that since the two Green Lanterns had them flanked now. Raising up his arm he created a gatlin gun mounted to his right arm and shoulder to which he opened fire taking out several in his path putting them on the defensive. But there were a few that had moved into a distance so they could attack them from afar. "Watch out Hal!" he shouted over to his comrade who seemed to have his hands full with the uneven numbers before them.

"No kidding." Hal saw them too now that John had pointed out the cluster of yellow dots floating around the moon Tyranink. Thankfully there were only a handful of the yellow lanterns stationed around the moon, it was a numerous welcoming party but during the war with the Sinestro Corps both GLs had handled much more than that; a living city included. Standard procedure said they flank the enemy and attack the weak spots while they're spread thin. Two Green Lanterns up against roughly 10 Sinestro followers. If Kilowog was around he'd make some bold statement like the Sinestro Corps being outnumbered.
As Hal flew in from the left, careful to avoid John's line of fire, his ring sparked and created a green mace similar to Hawkman's nth metal one. The yellow lantern closing in on him created a yellow weapon that seemed to be a scythe and morningstar cross. The curved blade of the scythe raked through the air with Hal just barely managing to dodge, the three spiked bulbs reminiscent of a morningstar then swung around at Hal's face. Quickly Hal battled off the yellow weapon with his green mace. Wielding his weapon in his ring hand Hal used the other to punch the snarling Sinestro Corp lantern across the jaw. Kicking off of the Slyggian's chest Hal flew toward the other yellow lantern and threw his energy construct mace. As the mace flew through space it remolded into a large horned goat which speared the targeted lantern square in the gut.
With the yellow lanterns trying to place some distance between them Hal didn't see too much problem with that, because even though they were scoping out himself and John and firing on them the distance would also serve to help the Green lantern as well. Bouts of yellow energy shot past Hal as he expertly dodged each beam of channeled fear. "On your toes, John." Hal doubted John needed the pep talk, but thats just what teammates do. A solid wall of green energy appeared before Hal to stave off the incoming yellow blasts. The green wall then expanded and stretched out over Hal to envelope him and encase him in green, though it was no longer a wall but a fighter jet. Simultaneously Hal chased down the Sinestros who tried running and fired on any he could catch in his sights.

"Thanks," John shot back to his fellow teammate as he watched a solid green wall form up to his side to protect them both. "Seems to me like they really don't want us to get involved here," he was pointing out the obvious, but at times it helped him to focus on the deeper questions at hand. Why were they all here and why so many? The whys would have to wait until they cleared space of these few yellow lanterns.
As Hal shifted his wall into a fighter jet around his own body, John opted for a mech-battle suit equipped with shoulder missile launchers and a sniper cannon. "What? i figured it wouldn't hurt to generate something with a bit more.. kick," he stated with a nod, he was talking to the yellow lanterns before him. As they fired on him he countered with a spray of missiles defending his position. This caused a wave of smoke to kick up around him, but to their disadvantage he used it to fire his cannon through. Picking them off one by one by blasting this ring arms, this would not completely stop them but it would force them to switch hands and in that time he would hit them again with another blast. Just like that four Yellow lanterns were out cold.

Hal had always enjoyed the freedom of flying on his own, the power given to him by his power ring, but there was just nothing that truly matched to the feeling of sitting behind the controls of a jet. He was an expert, he flown big jets, little jets, fast jets, stealth jets; Hal absolutely knew what the best of the best was and there were absolutely no manmade fighter jets that could compete with the ones created from his imagination. Hal pulled on his controls and went into a tumble as he sprayed a barrage of green bullets at the opposing yellow lanterns.
The lanterns they were up against put up a well enough fight but it was clear that they weren't going to be very effective in holding John and Hal off for much longer. Righting his jet Hal glanced out over at John who was now sporting an emerald mecha suit like something out of a Japanese cartoon. "Ha. You've been hanging out with Kyle too much I see." Though honestly the intricate machinery and detailed workings was more up John's alley, but the idea of something like that would easily be found in one of Kyle's sketch pads. Together the two Green Lanterns were putting down yellow lanterns left and right, but a good bit of them were recovering and charging straight back into battle.
"John, I'm gonna put a dent in their line. You head for Tyranink when it's clear and I'll be right behind you." They couldn't afford to be held at bay any longer. Something was happening on that moon and they needed to get down their to put a stop to it. Hal was going to break the defense the outlayer of Sinestro Corps lanterns were providing to make a way in for John and then he was going to be sure to flying in right behind his partner. "Here we go!" Hal pushed on his controls and guided his plane after the yellow lanterns, effectively herding them all into a clump together. Below his jet appeared a large green missile. Hal fired from his guns and flew in closer, pinning the yellow lanterns to one location and keeping them from spreading, and then he fired the missile.

"yeah, the kid is creative I'll give you that," John shot back to Hal Jordan as the man flew passed him once again. It was true that something this creative was usually more akin to Kyle's styles, but John's constructs were thoroughly built from the inside out. Even the detailed ones. Which made his constructs that much more powerful, while the other Lanterns of Earth were known for their flashly style, creativity, or their brute natures he was structured down to the core of his being. The one thing he definitely did share with them though was their mutual brash attitudes. Their emotions allowed the Earth Lanterns to reach levels that often the Guardians even feared.
As the battlefield seemed to hit a endless loop of yellow lanterns falling only to be replaced by the ones recovering the Green lanterns needed to find a new plan. "Alright," he nodded in reply as Hal was the first to come up with something. It was a straight forward one, like much of the stuff Hal thought of. But that did not mean it was not a good idea. So without any further pondering he took up flight next to Hal. "At your 3," he stated as he caught up to Hal;s jet in no time. as the barrage of green bullets pinned down the yellow lanterns, John veered off from the flight path and shot straight down into Tyranink's atmosphere.
John's straight down flight bent into a swoop until he was parallel with the land below him. "Ring scan," he demanded from the universe's most powerful weapon. He needed to know anything and everything immediately. ::Large concentration of nuclear energy three point seven miles ahead.:: the ring quickly informed him of the first potential warning. "Great," he muttered as he pushed forward toward this energy anomaly.
In mere minutes later John's vision was taken over by a sea of Green Lanterns in the heat of battle with Yellow Lanterns. There were others in between the two Lantern corps, whom were more than likely the natives of this moon, but they were more like flies on two bison fighting. At the center of this stage was an enormous building that would rival the whole citadel of Oa or maybe the state of Texas. That was where the nuclear energy had to be.

"That's the Torchbearer for you." Hal commented with a sly smirk. Nothing against Kyle, but they had all heard how Kyle was always the hope of the Green Lantern core and supposed to be destined to be the greatest; but in all honesty Kyle's accomplishments paled in comparison to Hal's. Not that they were in competition or anything. Hal drew his mind back to battle and looked to John with a nod as the man appeared at his side. He needed to make a hole for his teammate and that was exactly what Hal was going to do. He pushed his jet's speed and did not let up on his fire in the slightest as his bullets rippled through the Sinestro Corps' defenses. As they opened up and fell from Hal's attack John's construct breezed through the gap and rocketed toward the moon the yellow lanterns tried keeping them from.
Hal shifted his jet into a green javelin around his stretched out form and he shot right past the reeling yellow lanterns as well. "Right behind you, buddy!" Just in case John would wonder or worry about him Hal made it known he was already on the man's six. They made a good team, though that could be said about all the GLs especially the one's originating from Earth; they just had a sort of connection that made them incredibly capable of working well together. "Looks like we're fashionably late." There was already a large battle being waged between green and yellow, Hal and John just so happened to be the late arrivals.
"Safe to say that building is what they're after? Ring?" It took a brief moment but Hal's ring soon dosed him with a bit of Tyraninkian history. ::The Pose. The fourth largest construct dedicated to nuclear creation, enrichment, and weaponizing in the universe. Has experienced only two meltdowns in its Fifty decade existence; the first destroying all life on the surrounding planets:: Hal whistled at the intel his ring fed him, "Intense. So Sinestro's after nuclear energy, hope this fight doesn't cause a third meltdown."
With his construct shrinking back to just the standard green aura around his body Hal flew closer to John and used his ring to blast a few of the yellow lanterns that tried double teaming Green Lanterns. "We have to move this away from that ticking time bomb."
