Players: Batman and the Joker Location(s): Banner's Diner Plot Summary: Batman and the Joker have dinner together.
Music flooded the interior of Banner's Diner with the only other sound being a male voice humming along to the chorus. The kitchen of the diner was cloudy with steam as Joker worked over a large pot in front of the industrial size stove. The steam and smoking choking the air out of the room didn't seem to annoy or bother the clown in the slightest. ♪I don't think ya ready fo' dis jelly♪ [/b] Joker sank shrilly as he reached over a shelf and grab a variety of different spices from the rack. Minutes later Joker had the entire evening's worth of dinner loaded on a cart and began pushing it from the kitchen toward the dinning area of the diner. He pushed through the kitchen's double doors and held them open for a moment to let out some of the smoke before continuing on his way. As Joker pushed the cart he passed a number of seating booths and tables, he also passed a number of tied up people who each had gray duct tape over their mouths with red smiles painted over the tape. Joker smiled showing teeth and waved one hand like a pageant princess as he passed each tied up person. Finally Joker came to a stop, parking his cart next to a table with only two chairs at it. He whistled merrily to himself as he untied his Kiss the Clown apron and raised it from over his head. Joker straightened his tie with one hand while the other dug inside his coat pocket to retrieve a small remote. Joker aimed the remote at the kitchen and clicked a button, the loud music playing instantly stopped and Joker sighed happily. "Any second now."[/b] He glanced at the large digital clock mounted on the wall.[/blockquote]

"Grayson, I never thought you could be so foolish." Dick strode across the bat-cave towards the bat-mobile with his protege right on his heels. "Headstrong and overly sentimental maybe but not so blindingly stupid that you'd walk right into a trap!" As Dick continued to walk towards the bat-mobile he spotted Alfred standing rigidly by the bat-mobile. "I'm afraid that I'm inclined to agree with him, sir. Your resources should be spent finding Gordon instead of meeting Joker's insane request." Dick stopped in front of the bat-mobile. "I need to stall him. Joker will make sure James Gordon can't be found. Damian, I trust you to find him while I stay with Joker long enough to distract him from pulling the trigger."
"But-"
"No buts."
Dick jumped into the vehicle, revved it up and was soon roaring out of the bat-cave. As he left towards the diner in a desperate attempt to buy more time on James Gordon's life the conversation between Alfred and Damian continued. "I can't let him do this." Alfred sighed as he stared down the tunnel. None of the members of the Bat-Family (except for Damian) were related but they were all the same. "You can't stop him...but maybe you can ensure that nothing dangerous happens." Alfred murmured as he decided to let the past in the military outshine his job as a butler. Damian smirked and cracked his knuckles before he turned and strode towards his hidden weapons locker. "Pennyworth, I like how you think...."
The trip to the diner didn't take long at all and soon Dick found himself standing in front of the door. No sneaky tricks right now. He knew that Joker knew he was coming. He also knew that Joker was well adjusted to the tactics of the Dark Knight. As a result he hypothesized that if he acted like an average human being he just might thrown the clown off. He had a strong feeling that Damian would be here any minute. He just wasn't sure what he'd plan. Either way Dick had to do this or else James Gordon would die. Joker had planned this perfectly. The vigilante took a quick steady breath before he opened the door and stepped inside. "Smells good." He commented as he slid into his seat.

Joker knew that Batman wouldn't dare to stand him up, not when the life of one Commissioner James Gordon was on the line. Ole Jim was a very important and integral part to the Gotham city police force and not just that he was the cities most strongest connection to Batman; and Batman's most strongest connection to Gotham. Gordon was like any of Batman's other tools he used in his war against crime and the Dark Knight did not like his tools trifled with - so how could Joker resist! The two of them - Joker and Bats - were just two kids playing in the sandbox that was Gotham city, and if you wanted the attention of the other kid in the box what do you do? You steal his favorite toy and wave it in his face until he either talks to you or punches you!
The bell above the diner's entrance door gave a cheery ring-a-ding as Batman entered the building, his dark outfit standing out amusingly in the overly bright diner interior. "Doesn't it?" The Joker looked his guest over and bowed ceremoniously to welcome his good friend to the feast they were about to enjoy. What the two men would be enjoying was a rather mouth watering smoked duck with all the trimmings on the side. On the table where Batman now sat there was a bucket of ice chilling an unopened bottle of Pinot noir. "Glad to see you weren't too busy tonight." [/b] Joker commented as he moved the tray of smoked duck onto the diner table and followed with plates and wine glasses for himself and Batman. With a warm hospitable smile on his face the clown sat across from Batman and stared at the masked man as he placed his hands in his own lap. "Care to lead grace?"[/b] The Joker's sharp red lips twisted into something more sinister than his words hinted at but in a moment the smile was once again warm and welcoming; scarily nice coming from the Joker.[/blockquote]
