Players: Static, Steel (NPC) Location(s): New York City Plot Summary: Alexander Luthor has returned from the grave and he has used his reality warping powers to create a wasteland in the center of the city. It is up to three heroes to take him down before he uses his powers to change the landscape of New York City forever!
There was no time to waste as Green Lantern was making a line straight for New York City, thankfully it was not too far from Gotham City geographically. Other heroes would of needed help getting there (either by vehicle of some kind or JLA teleporter), but Green Lanterns could travel at the speed of light through space. So these few small miles were nothing to them. Nevertheless, the call was urgent and his particular skill set was needed for this foe; Alexander Luthor. Alexander Luthor was not exactly someone John wanted to hear from, namely because the man was dead. In this line of work it would seem the dead did not want to stay that way. Whether it was through the help of magic, reanimation, or the likes of the Black Lantern Rings people all across the universe seemed to find new ways to come back from the land of the nonliving to torture those that found it hard to move on from their departure. Alexander was one of those revived during Blackest Night, it was a scary thought to think again someone thought it was cool to bring this man back. Then again it could just as likely be an alternate universe clone of the man, being that he was already from another universe when he died here. Only time would give John the answers he was seeking. "Holy..." was the only world that came out of John's mouth as he flew into view of the miniature wasteland that Alexander Luthor Jr had created for them. The call had just came in from Steel, the Justice League's Logistics man. Fists in front of him as he directed his flight pattern toward the rooftop where his fellow Justice Leaguer was already waiting for him. "What the Hell took you so long?" Steel asked the Green Lantern that just landed next to him. "Had to save Batman's sorry backside from some cult. You'll hear about it later. What's the situation here?" Green Lantern returned the question with an answer and then a question of his own. "Well, about an hour ago Alexander Luthor Jr showed up out of nowhere. As you already know, most of the League was busy in Gotham City dealing with that Cult. And a lot of reservists were not picking up the phone. The few that have are all over the city battling other random villains that have appeared like Madame Rogue, Solomon Grundy, and something is attacking the Empire State Building. We have people at all the scenes, thankfully some younger heroes were able to make the jump over to help out. Which is why you see Static down there helping out civilians," Steel explained over to the Present Green Lantern. "Boy, that kid sure has some upside," He commented for a moment before turning to face Steel once again, "We cannot stand around and allow Luthor's alternate universe spawn to reach into his bag of tricks. There is no telling what he'll do passed this wasteland. So let us not give him the chance to." With that Green Lantern took off from his perch and swooped down toward Static's area to help move some rubble away from civilians. With a nod to the Teen superhero he said, "keep up the good work." He then looked up toward his next target, not one that he was entirely sure what he was getting into but he had no other choice. Looking over his shoulder he saw Steel Joining him in the sky. It was time to move, so he flew up next to the other Justice Leaguer as they converged on the villain that was present.

Virgil was starting to tire of the "save the world" trope that the heroes constantly fell prey to. Sometimes he wanted to do something different. Couldn't he just save a baby from getting hit by a car or cure cancer? The idea that super heroes solely existed to fight bad guys was an exhausting one. That being said Virgil was more than happy to help. His powers were more offensive than anything else and he definitely wasn't smart enough to cure cancer. Sometimes he was worried that he wasn't smart enough to handle his career as a hero but it wasn't like he could exactly question himself in battle. This particular situation was unlike anything he had seen before. Alexander Luthor had returned from the dead and turned the center of New York City into a post-apocatylyptic nightmare. Zombies lurked in the distance and mech robots were blasting innocent civillians.
Virgil had no idea how to fix reality but he did know how to help civillians escape. Civillians could escape the reality they were trapped in as long as they didn't get killed in the first place. Static was trying to free as many people as he could without getting killed. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to deal with Alexander Luthor but that was why Steel was here. The moment Green Lantern showed up they could go on the offensive. So far the African-American hero was late but apparently there was another crisis in Gotham City. Virgil didn't even want to think about what Batmanw as facing. "Move! Go! Go!" Virgil grasped a heavy leaden pipe that had fallen across a truck and with some effort pushed it off. A family of four hurried out of the car while the father grasped a wound on his head. "You ok, man?" The father looked at him. He was breathing heavily but looked alright. "Yes....thank you."
Virgil nodded and turned behind him just in time to notice four lurking creatures walking towards him. They looked like they had just walked out of Shaun of the Dead. Virgil cracked his knuckles. "If y'all really think I'm gonna let you eat my brains than you got another thing comin'!" Virgil released a wave of electricity that decapitated the creatures right as he heard a scream for help. He turned and noticed a massive pile of rubble. Virgil sprinted towards it and immediately began to push, shove and blast his way through the heavy rocks. As he did John Stewart finally arrived and helped him. The women beneath the rubble was relatively unharmed and gave him a hug of thanks before escaping. Virgil wasn't sure what made him feel better. The hug or John telling him to keep up the good work.
Virgil glanced up and noted that Alexander Luthor was approaching. He watched as the man raised his hands and summoned a massive dragon and ordered it to attack Steel and Green Lantern before he turned and began to flee. Virgil paused. He didn't know Luthor personally but he knew the man could literally manipulate reality. He should have been able to handle Steel and Green Lantern head on. Was he hiding something?

The center of New York City had been turned into a post-apocalyptic nightmare by Alexander Luthor. Zombies were lurking down every street and mech robots were disseminating every building in sight. Civilians were running for their lives in every direction, heroes were trying their hardest just to get to safety. If there was such a place in this warped reality. That was why it was up to the heroes on hand to get to Alexander Luthor and stop this immediately, before any real damage was done and things became permanent. That was not going to happen on this Green Lantern's watch, that was for sure. At least in his mind he was certain of this.
With Steel and John on a direction course for Alexander Luthor everything was about to change for the better, hopefully."Flank him Steel," The Green Lantern shouted over to his teammate as they separated to take different angles to handle Alexander Luthor. The man watched as he was soon seemingly surrounded. Without a word the man raised his hands and summoned a massive eastern style dragon with green scales, a blue under body, and red hair. The dragon was wrapped around the building at which Alexander was standing upon, breathing out a mountain of smoke from it's mouth creating a smog cloud defense. Raising his hands Alexander ordered his new pet to attack Steel and Green Lantern before he turned to flee from the battle field.
"$H!7!!" John let out as he barely dodged a bolt of fire that had jettisoned through the smoke cloud that was hampering his vision of the building some. Flying back out from the smoke he took in the whole view before him, Steel was avoiding the tail lash attack from the dragon. "This thing doesn't have wings, maybe it cannot fly.." just as the Green Lantern was saying that he flew up into the sky drawing the dragon's attention his way by firing several green construct missiles at the beast. His theory was soon disputed by the uncurling of the body from the building for the beast to take to the sky in a straight manner head first at the Green Lantern. "Figures.." he let out as he created a couple steel beam supports to keep the mouth of the dragon open from clamping down on him.

For a moment Static wasn’t sure if he should follow Alexander Luthor or aid his teammates with taking down the dragon. Logic told him that they could handle this situation on their own and that stopping Alexander Luthor took precedence. Loyalty told him that he should help his teammates because they wouldn’t hesitate to help him. It was an obvious choice to Static and he took after the dragon. There was no telling what kind of damage it would cause if it was allowed to wreak untold havoc. It was definitely one of the most complex constructs that Static had ever seen. Natural fascination and curiosity made battling the dragon much more interesting than chasing Luthor down the streets. Yet as Static flew towards the creature he knew that he’d start regretting his decision the moment it attacked him. He still pushed on.
“Language!” Virgil playfully chided John as he flew straight past him. The dragon hadn’t seen him yet and as a result it hadn’t attacked him. Virgil was hoping he could end this in one stroke. Steel had his hammer. Green Lantern had his ring. Virgil had the ability to generate an electric blast strong enough to totally destroy a building. If he used all of his energy up at once he’d be fairly useless afterwards but he figured it’d be worth it for the dragon. He had a feeling that he’d be able to find an electric power source to charge up again. This was New York City. Apocalypse or not. While Steel flanked the dragon Green Lantern distracted it with multiple energy blasts. Static couldn’t help but admire John Stewart’s courage. He was always on the front line and charging into battle. Regardless of who he was facing.
Static wanted to follow his rolemodel’s example but knew he had to be sneakier. While Lantern struggled to keep the dragon from biting him Virgil maneuvered until he was right on top of it. He then grabbed one of the dragon’s scales with both hands and began generating wave after wave of electricity. This was coupled with a massive blow to the dragon’s thigh with Steel’s hammer. The sound of cracking bone told Virgil that the dragon had been wounded badly. The creature reared back its head, squealing in pain. It turned and released a gorge of flame at Static. The teenager angled upwards and away to avoid the blast and aimed a blast of electricity at the dragon’s eye. He then took the position of the distraction and played a game of cat and mouse with the dragon. He’d fire a blast of energy than move. He continued to do so as he waited for Green Lantern and Steel to finally overwhelm the creature and slay it.

John was in a sticky situation as the dragon wanted to make him dinner against his will. Thankfully Steel and Static had other plans. With their combined attacks he was able to escape back out of the mouth of the beast. "Thanks for the helping hand," he said as he flew out and circle back by Static. He then joined in with avoiding the flames and firing energy blasts to distract the Dragon even more. This was not an effective use of all their time, Luthor was getting away.
"Steel, you and Static need to chase down Luthor," John stated to the other Justice League member with Static in hearing distance. There was no time to argue the plan, he was a Green Lantern after all taking down enormous creatures others could not was part of their jobs. "I'll Catch up," he reaffirmed that he fully intended to join them in the setting reality right, but for right now he could battle this dragon one on one.
Generating a giant wall to block the oncoming fire to by time for the other two heroes to get a move on, John's expression was that of determination now. "Time to show you what I'm made of," he stated as the dragon broke through the wall physically but to find that the Green Lantern had relocated above it. Firing down he morphed and molded a giant snake like energy construct that latched onto and constricted the movement of the dragon. With the dragon snared in a trap, he floated backwards to create a giant broadsword that mirrored the ones used by knights from the mideveal ages.
Turning slightly John angled and then thrust forward toward the Dragon's heart. Stabbing through the skin into the heart the creature let out a yell and then proceeded to struggle less and less under the restrictions until it had finally stopped moving completely. This is when the dragon began to dissolve from reality into white dust that was lost to the passing winds. He almost felt something deep down, to live such a short and meaningless existence thanks to Luthor was unforgivable. Pushing that aside, he needed to follow the other two heroes that no doubt needed his help dealing with a reality manipulator. Hopefully they were not too far in over their head.
