Players: Virgil Hawkins and Joy Location(s): The DMV Plot Summary: Virgil's new found girlfriend drags him to the DMV to get a new license after he's robbed by Cheshire.
Virgil wasn’t really ready to deal with daylight right now. That was part of the reason why he hadn’t really been patrolling lately. He had showed up to work and classes because he couldn’t afford to miss those and had been forced to suffer the sympathy from his classmates and workmates. Basically his face looked as if it had been treated to a cheese grater. The hat and sunglasses didn’t help much either. The hat didn’t work because Virgil’s hair couldn’t fit under a hat no matter how hard he tried. The sunglasses didn’t help because his whole face was covered in bruises. Not just his eyes. One could say he looked like a raccoon due to two black eyes but there was also the massive bruise on his cheek. Luckily an emergency visit to the hospital had purged Virgil of the poison in his body. He hadn’t really recovered from suffering from four different toxins in his bloodstream but he was getting better. He was eating solids now, anyway.
The decision to venture outside for something other than classes and work had been Joy’s idea. It had been three days since the incident with Cheshire and roughly over a week since he had spoken to Joy at the bakery. He had just mustered the courage to call her when he was agitated and alone. He had figured that the bruises on his face had faded somewhat. Yet Joy had been able to see right through him. Any hopes of a hook up or even reconciliation had been shot down when Joy had slipped him into mother mode. It was a mode he hadn’t even known she had. She had seem far more distressed and angry about being mugged than he had. Which was strange because he hadn’t even told her the full story. He was starting to realize that she cared much more than Virgil had initially thought.
The bright sun only made Virgil’s face ache even more as they headed towards the DMV building. He was wearing sunglasses in hopes of at least detracting people’s attention from his raccoon eyes. Yet the purplish bruise on his jaw was glaring. “I shoulda worn make up.” Virgil mumbled. It was somewhat hard to speak without slurring his words. His jaw had been dislocated and reset and it still hurt to talk. As a result he sounded as if he had cotton balls in his mouth every time he spoke. It was unfortunate. Virgil wasn’t entirely sure if he’d have to deal with this for much longer. The human body tended to heal at a ridiculously slow rate. At this point Virgil would do anything to get rid of the bruises and speech impediment and keep the pain. He couldn’t really function with both the pain and unseemly appearance.
“I feel like I’m perpetuating a stereotype.” He said as he opened the door for Joy. “Damn it’s not like it was a hate crime or anything. I was just on da Southside of Bronx for too long.”

This was actually a bit of a boon for Gemini in her relations to Virgil. Yet it was an anti-boon... a noob? It was tragic how this situation actually had began. Eight days after their tragic situation at the Warehouse, she received a somewhat sweet text from Virgil. He had missed her? He was sorry? That was honestly all she needed to know... she forgave him enough to go visit and see what he wanted. Honestly she had expected something half assed and a reason for her to give up trying and maybe work on being single again... and then she saw how badly he was hurt. At first she believed he had been beat up on patrol by some overly powerful behemoth of a warrior.. and then she took a closer look and pain set into her heart.
She knew these wounds. Some were blunt wounds, thrown elbows and knees and knuckles... but all over his visible skin were cuts. Tiny, slowly healing cuts. Most of them were clean and yet some of them still smelled of more than just dead skin. They resonated with hints of toxins and general bad things. He had gone up against an assassin... a butt load of them if all of these cuts were to be counted for and the only assassin Gem knew with the skill to make these cuts, use this much poison and still let a man live? Jade was a much nicer older sister than Gemini knew. Though she had to stay and take amazing care of her boyfriend, a hospital was good and well, but they didn't known which kitty had her claws in this man. She had to make him tea born of a plant that Ivy had given her, had to make sure Virgil's heart rate didn't dip below a certain point and demolish his roommate's score in wii sports.
All in all? It was an amazingly nice time. Not about sex or emotions or crazies... it was a girl taking care of her superhero boyfriend, and it was good. The next day was less fun than she wanted to believe though. After struggling to fight off her mother in a nightmare, she made some sub-par breakfast omelettes , which were still amazing by american standards, and now she had to spend most of her day.. at the DMV. Which was the biggest waste of time since slinkys. I wouldn't have had enough time to find the right shade of makeup to cover up your extensive wounds and don't worry about it.. not only are scars sexy, but if anyone asks, I'll tell them you got beat up trying to defend my honor from some muggers. She smiled up at him and joined the massive winding line to the front desk.
Despite how she might've felt about Virgil, she was still happy to be with him in this trying time of his. She had definitely needed to cry on Ivy's shoulder a few times after some training sessions with Cheshire. We're gonna be here for a while I guess... She pulled her phone out of her jeans and grimaced as a message from Papa Lord appeared on the screen. She was needed at Intergang... orders had to be relayed, Madame Rouge was needed.. and yet Joy was needed as well. Intergang could wait, right? Not like there weren't 8 other contingencies in the way. Sorry. Work won't leave me alone... you wouldn't mind if I use you as an excuse for not showing up, yeah? Though she was quite sure Lord had eyes on her at all time and he was already coming up with ways to punish her.
