Players: Catwoman, Open. Location(s): Mob boss Mario Maretti's penthouse apartment. Plot Summary: Selina found a way to do what she loves while still being "good," much to her delight.
People might not realize, but being a thief and a vigilante at the same time were two very conflicting career choices. Selina hadn't realized how much she would miss plundering vaults or picking locks when she agreed to be with Bruce, and therefor put her villainous past behind her. The sacrifice was great, but Selina didn't regret the decision. Catwoman still woke up feeling surreal. Knowing that, after years and years of playing their little game of cat and flying mouse, she was actually with Bruce... Well... Technically.
The sheets were pretty cold at night when your fella was halfway around the world. Playing nice had been... alright, so far. Selina couldn't seem to gain Richard's trust so far, but that didn't keep her up at night. She had Bruce's approval, and that mad the new Batman's skin burn with anger. Which, coincidentally, only made Catwoman more satisfied with her choice. The problem was that, even though Selina was now "with" Bruce, and playing the role of hero, she was a thief at heart. The feline felon had been going stir-crazy, until...
Oracle came up with a solution - being a reservist on the Birds of Prey had its payoffs. The computer chick hadn't intended to, really. Selina hadn't expressed her yearning to crack a safe to anyone, of course. Intentionally or not, Oracle had provided Catwoman with something that she couldn't believe she hadn't discovered herself before then: a loophole. Stealing might not have been as fun if Selina didn't get to keep the pretties afterwards, but at least robbing the corrupt moguls of Gotham, taking from them things that they stole to begin with, or would be using to do less than kind things with, stopped her fingers from itching.
That explained why Catwoman was crouched before a shiny silver safe in Mario "The Fist" Maretti's office. One hand turned the tumbler expertly while the other pressed specific buttons on the gadget that she had stuck to the front of the thing. Selina shifted weight slightly from one bent leg to the other, and couldn't help but grin like the Cheshire Cat. If she had swiped a few trinkets that might, or might not have had resale value for herself on her way in, so much the better. "I missed this," Catwoman sighed softly to herself.
(OOC: Should could have been so much better, but there you have it. Feel free to join, anyone!)
